Combining an innovative design with exceptionally practical, user-friendly functionality, the CitiZ automatic single serve espresso maker by Nespresso not only functions as a beautiful accent piece to any kitchen counter, but it also brews up soothing, cafe-style espresso drinks quickly and easily. It features a durable fire engine red and black ABS plastic and stainless steel construction, and a unique extraction system designed to work specifically with Nespresso capsules, which means perfect espresso every time. This machine perforates the hermetically sealed capsule and soaks all the ground coffee to optimally filter the coffee, while its high-pressure 19-bar pump extracts all the aromas and gives body to the espresso. It is 40% more energy efficient than previous models with an incorporated energy savings mode, and a faster heat up time of 25 seconds. It has a removable one liter water tank with removable drip try and used capsule container, which holds nine to 11 capsules. It also features two size settings, espresso (40 ml) and lungo (101 ml), and has no on/off button, simply press both the espresso and lungo buttons at the same time. The automatic off mode turns machine off after 9 seconds and can be programmed for up to 30 minutes, instead of stand by. With 1260 watts and 1 meter of cable with retractable cord storage, it also offers a semi automatic descaling procedure. This machine also comes with a free carousel that holds 30 capsules, keeping your cupboard neat and your favorite coffee always at arm's length.

I recommend you read the other reviews for the Cuisinart SS300 coffee brewer, it seems there is a manufacturer defect that makes it quit working after a short while. Mine quit after only a few cups of coffee, less than 2 weeks.

I really like this unit, it's easy to use and makes a decent cup. I have had about a month and had purchased the larger Cuisinart unit which was defective. This one works as well and good for a single person as there is no real water reservoir.

This is our second coffee maker by Delonghi. We love the front-load style. We had a 2 instances of leaking such as is DeLonghi DCF2212T 12-Cup Glass Carafe Drip Coffee Maker, Blackdescribed in former revues. With the first coffee maker, we adjusted our thinking to make sure the access was completely open. After that, we had no problem. We didn't like the lip of the carafe because it inevitably dripped on the counter unless you poured extrememly slow.The newer model of the same coffee maker has been a dream. First thing we noticed was the redesigned lip on the carafe. It has not dripped one bit. Also, even though the design of the front loader looks the same, we have not had one instance of leaking. The coffee comes out too hot to drink for me, but my husband loves it that way...so it's just about a perfect coffee maker for us. We will continue to buy DeLonghi because of its quality and because we really need a pot that doesnt have to be pulled out each time.

I purchased this item based on good reviews, but I was disappointed that the carafe drips onto the counter when pouring, even when being very careful. Also, the feature that allows you to pour while it's still brewing doesn't work very well. I do like it's design and that it makes 14 cups.
